Comments:
Mostly a 2 band affair here out west as in recent years. 80 and 10 were MIA even
tho the MUF got close to 28mHz. 40 was loaded with summertime QRN, altho the big
EU sigs were reasonably easy to work. Ran most of the contest but pounced on
needed mults.
20 opened very late both days and became quite productive mid afternoon into
late night. 15 saved the contest out here and was definitely the $$$ band.
Opened early both days, stayed strong to mid afternoon and remained open well
into evening but with little EU activity. 15 was incredibly long with very loud
EU sigs void of any DX flutter. Stateside was mostly all ESP and echo with beams
turned to EU.
Always fun to break pileups before N9RV, but our buddy Pat always prevails in
scoring with SO2R and 2BSIQ. Maybe someday my brain will cooperate with those
modes.
