Comments:
Got a late start Saturday with a family obligation. Had a couple issues at
start up with the computer network that required a system reboot. Just a few
minutes of panic while I restarted everything. Was able to take advantage of
the evening hours on 80 and 40m. Had decent rates until about 1am local and
things slowed down. So I called it quits at 2am when it was really slow. Slept
a little too long and got back going around 9:30am. Probably missed some DX
mults that I could have used. 15m wasn't very good for me. 20m turned out to
be more productive running and I'd S&P on 15m while waiting for a caller on
20m. Took a break at 1pm to watch the first part of Buffalo Bills(my home town
team) game. Came back and bounced between 20/15/10m then jumped on 40m around
4pm and with very good rates. Then did dueling CQ on 80/40 until I hit 800 Q's
then finally did an S&P sweep for the last 15 minutes to pad my 800 Q's for
the inevitable NILs.
Always enjoy this RTTY contest to kick off the new year. Worked quite a few
fellow PVRC members including a handful of the local NC guys. Keeping tabs with
online scoreboard helped with motivation to push to the 800 Q's and 74K+ score.
73 and Happy New Year,
Eric - NR4O
