Comments:
Never know what to expect, season to season. Got off to a pretty good start for
the first 2.5 hours making 100 Qs with the "temporary" wire/gutter low
dipole.
The next 7.5 hours to 212 Qs, slowed down rapidly. Mostly a EM/EN/FN/FM grid
fest for this little pistol. I heard a few very loud 7s in far west and NW DM
and CM/CN grids all night long, but was only able to get the attention of K7RAT
for one of four 10 pointers. The other three 10 pointers were Caribbean. No PJ2T
in the log again. Heard him, called him on several occasions, no joy. Did not
hear any EU again. Band was quiet, signals seemed down along with some long slow
QSB, mostly to the west. Activity really started thinning out around 10pm local
and by 1am local, it was TN drought. Picked up a few new calls here and there,
always listening for the weak signals up and down the band for an AK or HI. But
once again, no joy. Still, always a good time in this one to see who pops in out
of the noise. Thanks to the BARC for sponsoring a fun contest!
73 Gene, N9TF
