Comments:
This reminded me of the old movie, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. The GOOD was
the sunspots and the never-ending pile of Q's waiting to be contacted. The big
thrill was putting 3B8, 3B9, FR, JW0 and TY into the log. I even had a decent
run on 15 Saturday morning. Who says an indoor mag loop doesn't work? The
longest call was from HG22TISZA - almost fell asleep by the end of it. The
on-line scoreboard kept me motivated, especially Sunday. I'm surprised more
folks don't use it. The BAD was a visit from Mr Murphy. He messed with the
antenna switch and limited me to just 40, 20 and 15 meters. I would bet 10 was
hot 'cuz I couldn't get there. Oh well!!! The A-index was over 20 at the end
and it really showed it Saturday evening on 40. The UGLY was fighting off a
head cold. Lots of sneezing and coughing the entire event. At least the
headache from earlier in the week was gone. Overall, a really good time.
Thanks for all the Q's, mults, and FUN!!! CU Next year. Thanks - 73 tom
Rig = TenTec Eagle @ 100 Watts. Antenna = Mag Loop (40 thru 15) and an
Isotron-80 in the attic 12' above garage floor and an indoor 10 meter dipole.
