I think the crowding slowed down the QSO rate somewhat. QRM wasn't bad most of
the time though, but I guess it depends on the filters. I generally use the 400
Hz filter as a compromise between QRM and not being able to hear off-frequency
stations. I noticed once again that CW at a higher pitch is harder for me to
copy. Most of the practice I do is around 500-650 Hz so when it's around 1000Hz
I don't think it registers as well.
I had some maintenance done on the SteppIR yesterday to try and prevent a
problem I was having with the temperature fell below about -10C. I think it may
have helped the performance even above those temps. Time will tell.
Thanks for the calls - especially from Europe this time worked some members for
the first time.
