Ten-Tec Jupiter at 5W. 2-element mini-beam at 25ft, 40m dipole at 60ft, 80m
dipole at 50ft. Used SD by EI5DI for logging and WinKeyer USB for keying.
For the 1300 session K0ALT wrote "I figure the only way to learn is to jump
in and do it." I figured why not try that and do as much running as
possible. It was tough to find a spot to run. I resorted to the edges but didn't
get many callers...got some. Half of my Qs were from running. Some exchanges I
did pretty good, some not so much but the experience was the sacrifice for a
lower score. Some ops were patient, thank you. Some, not so much...I
understand.
I had some logging issues with SD. It sometimes doesn't want to retain a band
change and after the exchange, it goes back to the band I was on previously.
Seems to happen in SnP mode.
If it was easy, we would tire of it PDQ.
Thanks for the Qs, the opportunity to participate, and the FANTASTIC PRACTICE.
73, Will, NQ2W
