K3CCR is the club station at the Collington continuing-care
retirement community at FM 18OW in MD, just east of DC. N3UM and
W5MPB operated Multi-2 LP in July 2022 NAQP RTTY.
Our goal was to beat our 7/21 M-2 claim of 86K by N3UM and W3GB.
We came close, 92%. SFI of 160+ gave us 52 more 15-M Qs and the
same 136 St/Pv mults as last year, but we got 108 fewer Qs on 80,
40, & 20 M. Activity seemed low. Maybe more ops did summer trips
in ’22, not kept home by covid as in ’21.
We saw very few spots on any band. We ran for 80% of our Qs. Only
3 of 12 runs were long (77-112 Qs); 9 were short (11-31 Qs).
At start 18-21Z W5MPB ran on 20 M for 94 Qs, while N3UM got 75 15-M
Qs, 30 in 2 short runs. At 2103Z we had 173 Qs and 60 mults.
From 2103-00Z we took breaks to eat and to see if we should QRT for
nearby thunderstorms. No, but we got just 60 Qs and 24 mults.
Our best 3 hours came next, 00-03Z; we got 181 Qs and 29 mults. N3UM
ran at 50/hr on 40 M, while W5MPB ran for 19 of 30 20-M Qs.
At the end 03-06Z we got 27 mults; N3UM got 53 80-M Qs & 51 40-M Qs,
while W5MPB got 24 Qs on 20 and 11 on 80 M. On all bands we got DC + 46 states,
4 NA ctys, + ON, QC, SK, & BC in VE. We missed AK, DE, MT, & VT.
