Comments:
After having terrible RFI in the ARRL 160M contest using my 160M inverted L, I
was apprehensive about the same in the Stew Perry. Drove the KPA1500 with only
20 watts from the TS590SG instead of the usual 45W. Power output was about
750W/ Had zero RFI. Didn't try to run full power. It was raining here and
wonder if that helped somehow. I felt weak most of the time but there were only
a few eastern and central USA and Caribbean stations this I didn't eventually
work. One exception was PJ2T who never knew I was calling. Best distance was
probably NX6T. Heard other west coast stations, but no QSOs by my QRT time of
about 0405Z. Heard several very loud European stations working others, but
never sending CQ and, of course, never calling me. Probably could have worked s
few if I had stayed up longer. Thanks for all QSOs. 73, John, K4BAI. (No
receive antennas)
