Comments:
Operated W4RN remotely from Panama. Whilst "off duty" monitored
FTdx101D with EFHW wire out window at 70m. Early saturday, no signals at all
until around 15z when light traces showed up on scope. Worked two guys in VA on
SSB then QSYed to cw.
Some S&P, then found CQ freq around 28040 and off to the races. Very
surprised at being able to run with 100w (amp still packed from weekend ops as
HO2T). After 40 min, band folded from HP. During that opening, I worked
who's/who's of PVRC and FRC. XYL visiting grandkids in YS land, calls with
request for me to 'show' an apartment for rent at 1100 local. Cnx my shift with
W4RN. Expected to be back in hour or so. Walked clients thru apt and other agent
pointed out water on kitchen floor, near washer/dryer...ugh....2 hours later,
after mopping, finding shut off external to apartment, finally return...10m weak
and watery from W4RN. Monitor rig in HP, around 21z, SA opens to big guns out of
LU/PY and CE...Sunday, interrupted again to 'show' apartment; this time deal is
made...yea...
FTdx101D shows no signals into states on Sunday; a few late in day to SA...
Toughest QSO, VE3DZ. Yuri had to repeat his call about 7 or 8 times as band was
fading and QSB was striking...one dit and dah at a time...it can only get
better.
