Friday night started with the intermittent failure of my ProSet Plus headset
mic. Took two hours to rip it apart, diagnose and patch up the mic cable, which
had developed a short near the headset entry point. Can't use anything else, so
had to fix rather than swap out with something lesser. Need to obtain another
ProSet Plus as backup. By the time I got back on the air, the bands were gone
for the night.
Saturday was fair but not stellar, and Sunday was terrible with the bands
sounding confused and signals muddled here. Couldn't get anything going on any
band for most of Sunday, and at night the low bands were a complete disaster for
me.
Highlights were 10M and 15M openings on Saturday, and a good 20M domestic run in
the final hour. Other than that my weekend was fair to middling and not what I
had hoped for. Took several long naps just to avoid the noise.
Just not a phone contester. Six more sleeps... Gimme Sweepstakes CW any day :)
