Comments:
The AA4V base station is located on the Isle of Palms, SC (NA-110). It is
situated right on the Intracoastal Waterway just North of Charleston, SC. The
Intracoastal at the station makes a leading line of salt water to the US NE
coast and to EU. To keep our covid bubble small, just Steve (AA4V) and Rick
(W4GE) used a mixed mode (Multi/S) to get the island on the air.
As always it seems, our hours were limited by social commitments and our own
worst enemy these days, fatigue from events of the past week. Although the
bands were in good condx leading up to the contest, The bands seemed as tired as
we felt: EU was spotty with seemingly ever present QSB especially Saturday
morning, and many contacts were made with those having no idea what IOTA was all
about. But, as always a good time was had, and it was good to be sitting at a
contest chair again in another house other than my own.
Station:
Rig: K3/P3, Acom 2000.
Antennas: SteppIR 3 el at 55ft, 43ft vertical, 80m full size quarter wave
vertical with elevated radials over salt water.
Program: N1MM+Logger
Thanks to all who came back to us. Stay Healthy out there!
