Comments:
Band conditions seemed to be way down from last year’s QSO Party. Eighty
meters was the most productive for us, but also got noisy late Sunday afternoon
into early evening. Thank goodness for the “looper” and “beverage”
receive antennas! Forty meters was okay on Saturday, but poor on Sunday until
the afternoon. Twenty was fair on Saturday, but very poor on Sunday. Generally,
the propagation was challenging all-the-way-around. Hopefully, next year with
the rise in the Solar Flux things will be much better.
Thanks to all those who worked us in this year’s Party. And, a big thanks to
the mobile stations that activated counties and cities that were not well
represented. There seemed to be many of them that there was little, if no,
participation. The Virginia QSO Party is one of the premier QSO parties in the
country and the Sterling Park ARC does a fabulous job of sponsoring it. We need
to get behind this event and keep it on top. Let’s encourage all of our
Amateur clubs in Virginia to support it!
