Comments:
Another fun contest is in the books! I operated my station via the RHR Console
instead of directly with SmartSDR so I could hear what I was sending from N1MM.
There were a few connection hiccups but they usually didn't last too long.
I feel that conditions were pretty decent considering the high K index. Saturday
was definitely better than Sunday, however! I was able to run some stations on
all bands.
80m was surprisingly good -- definitely better then last weekend in WPX RTTY.
40m and 20m were open to all corners of the globe. 20m closed to EU much earlier
on Sunday then on Saturday although far-north EU stations remained workable into
the evening. 15m was decent to EU on for a bit on Saturday, but an EU opening
didn't really materialize on Sunday. 10m opened to Central America on Saturday
afternoon, but I didn't spend much time there because it seemed that every
station I heard had a raging pileup that took ages to break. I don't have 160m,
so I can't comment on conditions there.
In the 18z hour on Sunday after 20m closed to EU, I found myself with very few
stations left to work. Thus, I periodically checked the band map and worked a
few stations between other obligations around the house.
