Comments:
At the last minute with the earlier start time, decided to try QRP ....20
seemed very good at 3pm local.
My understanding was that the contest was moved back an hour, to allow for more
"equity" in the results, since the W Coast seems to have dominated the
top ten in the past. Perhaps it was earlier for some other reasons, which still
are a mystery to me.
Looks like more 20m time in February was a good thing idea. But of course the
other end of the stick, is that 80m from 6pm to 7pm is just starting to open out
here. Of course with 5 watts it doesnt much matter.....80 is gonna be tough any
time.
NOTES:
ONE (as in 1) Canadian worked, when Todd SK called me. No other VEs heard except
for VE7RR in the BC QSO, and VE6EX CQing.
MT (MONTANA, with loud N9RV and K7QA, proved to be completely elusive, and
always had someone calling them on 80.
So close neighbors not worked this time, but nice to have 2 ZF, 2 KP2, KH6CJJ
and KL7SB in the log. Those made me smile.
Fun contest as always, and will probably try another category next time, just
cuz.
