Comments:
With the NAQP on Saturday, I did not get on here until Sunday
afternoon. I also decided to stick to the legacy modes: no FT*.
This also meant hardly any Qs... PERHAPS THE VHF CONTESTS NEED
TO HAVE A LEGACY ONLY ENTRY CLASS IF THEY ARE TO SURVIVE THE
FT* MODES. To be honest, I like FT8. I use it all the time for
DX. I just don't find it fun for contests.
As to my results: this is the 24th time I have participated in
this contest. My score is one of my lowest - not much time and
no FT*, but my choice so I have no regrets. I only had one
CW contact so perhaps I would "do better" in the final standings
if I entered SSB only, but that doesn't appeal to me.
And one last comment:
Operators need to ask if anyone else wants a Q before QSYing.
I missed a number of potential Qs because after listening to
two operators (without hearing any call signs so I couldn't
check for dupes) they would QSY to another band and miss my
potential points.
