Comments:

This was my first chance to play in a contest with my newest antennas.
Unfortunately everything is half done which precluded a competitive entry, so I
was pretty relaxed throughout. For example, although I say 'SO2R' it accounted
for less than 50 contacts. I was fatigued from tower work, with only one amp, no
band pass filters and I haven't yet learned the trick of handling timing while
disentangling callers on the run frequency(ies). I never have that problem doing
QRP SO2R.

The new 5-el stacks on 15 and 20 work very well. So well that I had a good run
on 15 with the 20 stack without noticing for 10 minutes. Automatic antenna
selection in in my future. Stack hook up was done Friday. The controller is
stripped wires at the end of a Cat5 and two clip leads. I left them BIP to
Europe since the motor wiring is lying on the shack floor -- one controller and
two prop pitch motors -- and there wasn't time to do anything about it. I filled
the azimuth gaps with tri-banders on the other high tower.

The high 40m rotatable dipole works great but needs the Beverages as its ears. A
small yagi lower down was good enough most of the time. Poor condx on 80 &
160 the first night, much better on 80 the second night, and 160 showed some
life in the brief darkness Sunday evening. Which is a shame since my new 160
vertical is working well and I have more Beverages. Sun spots did wonders on the
high bands. I hung around on 10 when I should been busy elsewhere, just for the
novelty.

I gave up a few hundred Q's on Sunday to spend quality time boosting the mults
and to satisfy my DXing soul. It seemed to pay off. I missed the first hour of
the Europe opening on 20 and 15 when I slept through the alarm Sunday morning.

Now it's back to antenna and station work. Once the pandemic is done I want to
be ready to do multi-ops. I don't (and never did) enjoy one man 48 hour
marathons.
