Comments:
This was the most fun contest since the sunspot maximum. Absolutely terrific
conditions considering we are still at the bottom of the solar cycle. 10, 15, 20
and 40m were all amazing - but 80m was disappointing and 160m was almost
completely useless. Local thunderstorm static made 80 and 160 reception very
difficult.
The number of multipliers was well down, but that is to be expected due to the
current situation (for example, no PJ2T this year, sadly).
It was exciting to be a unique multiplier on all bands apart from 15m, where
Marty put in a great showing as PJ4X, and this generated some massive pile-ups.
Apologies to those who didn't get through.
If this is what propagation is like in CQWW Phone at the bottom of the sunspot
cycle, I can't wait for the solar maximum!
Rig: IC-7300, Acom 1500 amp @ 1kW to Spiderbeam @ 30ft on 10-15-20m, 40m
elevated ground plane and inverted-V dipole @ 55ft, 80m quarter-wave vertical,
160m 74ft base-loaded vertical.
73 Steve, PJ4DX.
