Comments:
Our traditional CWT-zoo had been called together for
an additional pair of rhino-ears by Rhino/OH5RP as a
safeguard for the ones missed by the elephant main-op.
Conditions on 14 MHz seemed like in a hermetic bottle.
The Sun made a X-ray flare a few hours earlier, but so
small of energy content that I would not expect it to
affect MUF markedly. The only USA heard was W1TO weak.
Probably the Es-layer was the main culprit for cutting
off the signals from further away. Twenty minutes on
7 MHz were slightly more productive than 14 MHz overall,
mainly thanks to the shorter skip to SM / SP.
