Comments:
My QTH is very noisy. I was planning to run portable from a quiet hill 5 miles
from home but the 105F temperature forecast for Livermore, CA impeded it. Two
hours into the Contest I had 25 pathetic QSOs in 20m. Suddenly the power went
off. Immediately I connected my Bioenno 20AH and the waterfall was as clean as I
have never seen it! I could hear stations (but they couldn't hear me). I had fun
S&Ping 20m, not so much 40m and 80m was out of my antenna capabilities. My
goal was 100 QSOs and 5000 points and I achieved that. I stopped and immediately
the power came back (8 hour blackout in 105F degree weather, thanks PG&E). I
tried running several times and nobody responded.
Life is good.
