Comments:
In the CW WPX the (obvious) key to having a really big score is to work a
lot of 6 point EU on 40/80, and that takes a major geographical advantage
over everyone else. Thank you Ray, W2RE and the guys at RemoteHamRadio for
this fun weekend! 718 EU Q's on 40/80 operating SO1R, remotely from Lubec,
Maine, the closet QTH to EU in the USA :)
The Lubec station is near the Eastport SO2R mega station, but only has one
HF antenna tower, a tribander 3 stack with a 3 el 40 at 140'. A 4SQ on 80M.
It's not set up for SO2R with RRC boxes, instead it is just a web interface
on the same computer running your N1MM, using virtual cables. A K3S is
connected to the computer via USB, but it is not keyed, it is just to spin
the dial. Very nice!
It would be so easy to give everyone a fair chance in this contest, just
make every Q worth one point....
73, Bill KO7SS
