Comments:
Thanks to Geoff, PJ2DX, and Dorothy and the CCC for the use of the house and
station on the weekend prior to ARRL CW. I spent most of Thursday and Friday
afternoons trying to solve computer issues. Finally I had to take an old
untried computer and put in station 1 here and load it with software. That
worked and everything worked fine during the contest. A few observations of
which I expect many are shared. No 10 meters...only QSO was with ZZ2T. No Europe
on 15 meters. Twenty and forty were the very crowded money bands. Eighty was
workable but noisy here resulting in many repeats. Too many people sending their
call 4, 4, 6 times when answering CQs. The usual clueless who answer CQs with
the whole report. Those who run from the QSO without getting an
acknowledgement....I ask for an nr repeat and they're gone...needless to say
they lose that QSO in the log checking. I bet I had at least 50-100 of these.
Nice thing was only about 10 dupes. Lotsa good ops. Many stuck with me for many
repeats.
Minimalist set up except for the antennas. K3 radio, AL1200 amp at 750 watts,
one computer, one decoder WriteLog/MMTTY.
See you all next weekend as part of the PJ2T Multi team.
Thanks to everyone who took part.
Jim
