Comments:
Great start on a wide open fifteen to the east and southeast and midwest. Twenty
sounded puny, with weaker signals. Forty was wide open, but western stations
sounded weak, in fact activity from the west seemed way down overall! Eighty
meter signals were loud, but uneven. One-sixty was very active, but I lost most
jump balls and really struggled to make contacts. Not sure if I have some sort
of antenna problem or what. All in all, I was falling behind KZ5D all night. I
had not heard W9RE once (!) until we worked at 02:55 and Mike had a number six
ahead of me ... the vagaries of the Sprint format!
I was QLF several times, my apologies. Just a rough night for a non-on-top
operator. Congrats to some guys who were flying. Nice to hear some new calls in
there ..
73, Jim N3BB
