Comments:
Had fun. Took it easy looking for band fills this contest, mostly on 80 and some
on 40. Wasn't in a hurry as you can see by the hours spent in the chair! Stayed
in line to get some calls in the log on 80 for new band. Did get a few, and a
couple on 40. 100 watts and a 35' high combination 40/80 short dipole, makes a
DX game a challenge!
Had fun cutting through a few major pile ups on 20m to get 5R8UM, 9X4XX and AH2R
in the log.
Got close to DXCC this weekend. 87 unique countries in the log, and 27 unique
zones. I did run across about another 20 or so unique DX that I tried
unsuccessfully to work. Most of them were after I saw them spotted (as did
everyone else), and it was jut plain chaos!
Thanks to Jim, KE0L for running the bands with me Saturday night for 6 U.S.
mults. Every mult counts!!
For no sunspots, the bands sure sounded decent. I'm sure there will be some
really great scores out there from the big stations!
73 Gene, N9TF
Rig, K3S 100 watts, Antennas, 10/15/20 2 element triband at 37', 40-80 100'
short dipole at 35'. 160, 67' shortened half sloper at 35' apex.
