When does the fun begin? This was a real slog, what with solar storms and
atmospheric storms. I could stand only 8 hours of this, and finally threw the
Big Switch at midnight.
Bands were very noisy, even though thunderstorms avoided my QTH. The noise
coupled with deep QSB made this "party" a real challenge. Even so, I
managed to pick some mults on 160, and 20M was still open late Saturday
evening.
I was "Bob" along with many Bobs and Dudes. I was amused that Mary
WA0CSL in ND commented several times during the pileup about the many Dudes she
was working, and NOBODY took a moment to explain why. When I finally worked her,
I did explain, and she was touched and pleased about what we were doing.
One clueless soul was confused by "Bob" and asked if my name wasn't
Mike. When I told him it was Bob today, he replied, "I don't know why that
should be, but OK, I guess."
Thanks for the Qs. Looking forward to CW and RTTY NAQPs.
