Comments:
First contest of the year and didn't spend too much time on the radio since I
was busy with other things at home.
Decided to go single band and 20m seemed like an interesting choice. Turned out
a fun experience with respect to DX contacts (NA especially and thanks VE2FK for
the spot, that was thrilling) but a struggle with HA stations given the skip
that was definitely too long. Managed only 8 contacts with Hungarian stations
and all at noise level.
Did only 5 contacts on SSB. CW is just more relaxing besides the fact that I
can't get the headphone to work on 20 since I have some sort of RF feedback that
return a nasty modulation on 20m. Will have to try to solve it sooner or later.
I'm mostly a QRP guy and using 80W (no, I never use the radio at full power) is
definitely another story. Maybe this could be the year of the change, or maybe
not...who knows :)
