Comments:
Wow! very "interesting" conditions. 20 was nil here, nary a signal
heard at 0230Z. 40 seemed OK, but when I tried working folks after 0300Z I
couldn't get a response, so absorption must have been high. 80 was noisy,
average QRN was S7 to S9, probably from thunderstorms in Wisconsin and Northern
Michigan. But, I managed to work 9 before the band went "really long and
watery" Then, W5AW popped up - thanks, Marv. Stuck around for a while
longer, but no new "loud" stations. Tried a few weaker stations,
figuring they might be using lower power, but NIL.
Shades of a solar minimum, but this early in the year? It's still summer until
21 Sept, but tell that to Old Sol. :)
