Comments:
I wasn't planning to do a serious effort in this one. A couple antennas had
been down since early December, but I took advantage of a recent break in
weather to make the necessary repairs.
15M was rough, mostly CA stations. 20M was also pretty slim. 40M was
disappointing and I basically didn't look back once I moved to 160M after not
being able to maintain a good rate on 40M. 80 and 160 were FB. Probably my
best QSO / mult numbers on 160M to date.
I ran 80-85% of the contest using SO2R dueling CQs. After some recent software
changes in dueling CQ behavior, I wanted to take the opportunity to test the
software under real operating circumstances. Worked great and had some nice
burst rates:
The best 1 minute rates were:
7 QSOs/minute 1 times.
6 QSOs/minute 1 times.
5 QSOs/minute 11 times.
Couple of nice mult moves near the end, K7SS to 160 (thanks DanWA!) and
KL7SB/VP9 called in on 80M about 7 minutes before my time ran out and obliged
to move to 160M. He had a FB signal on 160!
