Comments:
"HNY" and thanks for the Q's!
This is a rate contest and I never found it. Really hard to get anything going
even though I had no trouble hearing stations calling and I generally felt loud
(albetit LP). Spent more time S&P than I like but you do what you must.
Station and N1MM Logger+ worked fine with no visits from Murphy. I even had
the benefit of a much improved noise level thanks to the power company working
on a few poles and my neighbor removing the Cisco Linksys PLE400 (Ethernet over
home power wiring) that was broadcasting S6 - S9+20 noise on all HF bands via
the power/telco lines... quite the "antenna"!
Highlight was having VP8NO call me when I was trying to scrounge up a run on
10M.
Observations: 1- I noticed a bunch of run stations with long delays in
responding to calls... thinking that is less than optimal SO2R and it really
sloooows things down. 2- Seemed like a lot of station weren't ending their CQ
or TU messages with either "CQ" or "QRZ", which also slowed
things down for the S&Per without assistance. Okay that's enough wine for
this contest, time for a Manhattan ;o)
