Comments:
Almost speechless after 42 hours of hammering away. Bested my score from 2000,
2001 of 3 million and change so am pleased especially since conditions were
better back in those years.
Not sure what happens on the keyboard but I have had the K3 jump to an entirely
different frequency in the middle of running. I don't watch the display so when
that happens I likely land right on top of somebody with my CQing which was the
case when a 1 lander seemed to move right in on me. Before I realized what
happened the K3 jumped from .058 to .005 right in the stomping grounds of those
to the East of here. I just let F1 roll on and thought I was gonna have to whip
someone before I looked and saw the readout. Geeze. Apologies to the fellow I
"stomped" on. It certainly wasn't intentional.
Only other "happening" was some DL1 started CQing in my face. I know
he had to know I was there as his signal was 20 over so mine had to be most of
that in Germany. I told him QRL here. He said something about see the cluster
and kept hammering away. I worked several stations through his QRM but to avoid
an international incident I shuffled my way down out of range which is not easy
to do since there are only two or three holes a fellow can jump in to during
the WW. I haven't yet figured out what the cluster has to do with me using a
frequency but he seemed to have all that figured out.
Good band conditions overall. Ten came alive Sunday afternoon and right on til
closing time but as Steve N2IC said, somewhat slim pickins although just right
for SO2R operations. 40 was very good Friday and even Saturday evenings. A
little nosier on Saturday. Europeans on 160 with just a Vee here but it seemed
not a lot of action on 160, perhaps because the other bands were good.
Overall a terrific time which is what everyone looks for in the WW.
