Great contest. Started out by finally debugging my 20m multiplier antenna
trouble with 45 mins. to go before contest start (bad coax splice on tower).
Put on a crimp connector in the cold and ran in to start. Glad I had the
antenna because California was all over the place.
Levels of activity were extraordinary. Was very weird to take an off time when
the rate meter was pinned. Could have stayed on 10m forever, but that's a bad
strategy for low band mults.
Super activity out of some places, like the Caribbean. North Dakota was a
black hole, Maine was pretty rare. But I worked 6 Montana guys on 80! Great
to have some teams here.
Propagation was great, but there were some awkward handoffs between bands. 20m
in particular was a real dud until late. 40m was the band that never stopped.
As N6RO noted, the absorption on 80/160 really lifted in the last hour. Too
bad I was mostly out of time by then.
