Wow what a weekend.
First time as SO(A)20m .
Contest was dedicated to new antenna and azimuth diversity testing.
The 5/5 stack is fixed to USA and the rotation is badly missing.
The US path was skewed to 270 degree as the contest started.
The JA opening was marginal Saturday.The next day JA started with LP and after
few hours the SP played much better = 200 JAs logged in day 2 (45 from first
day).
It is mind blowing experiences distribute the decoded signals to each ear
separately.
Left ear dedicated to USA and right one to Japan, with ability to focus to
weak
one any time on both ears. All you need is K3 with fully equipped receivers
and
magic is done by Microham station master deluxe and MK2R+.
Easy just press the right button.
So far there were no 20M antennas on OM0M to simultaneous beaming to JA/W at
same time.
The Microham solution is the absolute winner over the general approach; based
on RF combining before the radio. (S/N is ruined)
The biggest shame is number of mults.
The overall score could be sexier with 15 more DXCC but I favored the pileups
HI.
TNX for every QSO and sorry for few black-outs caused by S9 man-made noise when
the RX was completely blocked. It will be a nightmare to find the source....
