Comments:
That was fun. Although in the beginning it was looking almost as bad as in
the previous year. Fortunately I did not go to bed Sunday night. The condx
Sunday morning were quite impressive. Almost felt like being on 40m. Looking
at some US skimmers the 10-20db advantage of some EU big guns melted down
quite a bit at that time. Maybe some high elevation angle propagation.
Without decent (any) RX antennas it was not too easy to dig the DX stations
out of the rather chaotic pileups. So quite happy to work A9, HZ, A6, 5N,
PJ2, RI1ANF, FM, KV4FZ, 6Y, TF. Highlight was being called by booming XE1RCS.
No way to get T77C who popped up "last minute" driving the crowd crazy. Also
missed LX.
Antenna: Inv-L, 12m+28m, only 8x10m radials
TRX: IC-7400 + amp
Thanks for the contacts & cu next time,
Matthias - DJ5QV
