Worked the contest from Taum Sauk, the highest point in Missouri.
I was very disappointed at the start. The 6 meter band was completely dead at
the start of the contest. I was only able to work the locals in St Louis. It
looked like it would be a slow contest and I did not think I would have nearly
as good of results as last year, but I had no idea what was to come.
About 2 1/2 hours in, 6 meters opened up. In the end, the 6 meter conditions
were very good and this was the best I've ever done in a VHF contest
