Comments:
This was just horrible!!! Much worse than last time. I could not even make
200 QSOs and fell way short of 10k points.
It was almost like I was running QRP with the antennas on the ground. I've
been in these sprints for many years, but I have never had so many requests for
repeats of serial numbers -- it was almost epidemic during the last hour on 80
and 40. The PC was sending the original data, so what was the problem??? I
was able to copy most of the numbers on the first pass, but I did have to ask
for repeats once in a while.
I had many gaps of 1-3 minutes with no QSOs. I was beat on most "jump balls"
that I attempted, and inherited frequencies mostly came up empty after a QSO.
Of course, most of my CQs came up empty as well -- even on clear frequencies
and at the edges of the fray.
This could well be my last LP Sprint. This was not fun at all, and I almost
quit early. I wanted to make it to the finish line, and I was on a team, so
â?" whatever. With the lousy band conditions and solar cycle doldrums, I
sometimes think it might be time to change hobbies.
