Comments:
Our second attempt at a multi-op from FN05 yielded about 3 times last year's
score, so it must rate as successful. Numerous small station improvements on
2m combined with longer sporadic E openings on 6m and increased rover activity
made the difference. It almost didn't work out this way, when the
wood-and-wire folding 6m beam got badly damaged shortly before it was to be
raised. But an hour or two with bits of wood, bamboo, screws, wire and (of
course) duct tape and it was as good as new (as long as you look at it from a
distance !).
Special mention must go to VE3RKS/R and VE3CRU/R, who between them provided
12% of our QSO points and several unique multipliers. Best dx was CN88, DN84
and EL03 on 6m, FM19 and FN31 on 2m.
6m : FT-920 - 100 W, 3 element beam @ 18 ft
2m : K2, TenTec transverter, RFConcepts amp - 170 W, 7 element beam @ 18 ft
