Comments:
The high bands were great. 10 was lotsa fun Saturday afternoon, mostly CA and
SA, but did hear EB8AH Sunday. 15 was lotsa fun whenever I was there, even
managed a "run". 20 was, well 20, it was insane had to switch the attenuator
in, crank the gain back, and even then it was insane. Still, worked a lot of
neat DX.
Storm front was rolling into the area Saturday evening and had a bit of QRN on
the low bands. My 80/75 meter antenna sucks, another thing to correct. 40 was
OK, but missed Sunday morning, which I had counted on for boosting multipliers.
Oh well.
Some folks really need to cut back on their gain and compression, there was
plenty of absolutely horrible audio. Some of the CQ loops were virtually
unintelligible, when the folks got on the mic they sounded great most of the
time.
Heard a few ummm disagreements about the who and what for on frequencies, but
overall think most folks did a great job in the chaos.
My logging computer STB Sunday morning and I lost almost 3 hours kluging
something together to recover my N1MM database/log. It wasn't pretty, but it
worked. I did sorely miss the voice keying, seriously, my throat is still sore
;o)
OK, I need help. Generally I say "November Two Whiskey November" and I did try
"Norway Two Whiskey Norway", but still have a lot of folks returning my call as
"November ZERO Whiskey November". I screamed and counted to TWO more times than
I care to recall. Any idea how to eliminate this problem?
Congrats to ND0C for a nice score. Actually worked Randy on 40, don't seem to
catch the US QRP stations in this one.
