Comments:
Wasn't able to put in much time for this one -- just over an hour on Friday
night on 40M, about 5 minutes on 20M Saturday morning, a few minutes for 1 Q on
40M Saturday night, and a fun hour Sunday morning on 20M, for a total of 2 hrs
23 minutes.
20M EU opening on Sunday morning wasn't as strong as I heard on Saturday here
at around 1530z. Called CQ a few times but only one station replied -- an SM
mult, so it was worth the calling, hi.
Wish I could have stayed longer on Saturday but had to go find a car for a kid
about to turn 16. Was a long day from 1600z till 0100z before we got home.
Was back on around 0330z Sunday and 40M was perking away but I didn't hear much
more than I had already worked on Friday evening. SP9LJD was the only Q added on
40M that night.
The 40M rotary dipole at 47' did a bit better this year than the two elevated
verticals did last September. (18 Qs for 12 countries vs. 12 Qs for 10
countries in 2008).
Congrats to Jerry VE6CNU, who did really well from AB, especially knowing how
things sounded over the pole from out west. We need a little solar spark to
jumpstart the high bands again.
