Comments:
Started out with a BANG, and ended with a whisper. First hour on 20 of 82 Qs
was great fun. With everyone baling to 40 after hour 1, had to shift down a
gear and a band. CQing didnt work. Wound up getting about 1/2 of answers to
calling others. Two hours on 40 w/ a quarter sloper and 100W is a very
different ball game than 20m w/ a beam.
Then down to 80 which meant a shift to an even lower gear...and lots of AGN?
and "dididumdumdidi". So what started as a sprint wound up as a slow stroll up
and down the band trying to find someone who didnt have a bunch of callers at
the end of their QSO. East Coast KW boys were very strong but unworkable on 80
from here.
Paper logged as usual, and may or may not try to type it into N1MM and send it
in. Usually end up w/ more typing errors than logging errors and score most
times gets decimated.
Still, however, the best time in radio sport ! Thanks to all who help keep the
SPRINT viable and fun. And I credit the THURSDAY NITE 30 minute NCCC Sprint NS
to making it possible to ID someone calling and know their name and state, with
just the smallest bit of signal. It really speeds things up.
See you hot rods next time, come join us on Thursdays if you can.. its a
ball...and all about rate and fun.
