Again a big thanks to Andy, AE6Y/P49Y and John, W6LD/P40L for use of their
wonderful station. Andy had operated the CQWW CW as a single op and then spent
the following day single handed re-erecting the 160 antenna that had been
removed during a recent tower/antenna upgrade.
Overall I found conditions better than previous years but activity seemed down.
Bad WX to the north provided a constant S7-S9 statcic crash background on the
Beverages that made copy of all but the very loud difficult. Sorry for all the
fills and repeat requests.
Great openings both nights to W6/W7 and even into VE-5,6,7. But where have all
the LAX stations gone! Good friend Dick, N6AA came at QSO number 1000 for my
only LAX. Based on the number of ORG and SB worked, everyone must have moved
to the suburbs.
A big thanks to the two unidentified ops that ran off separate W stations
trying to steal my frequency in the 30-35 DX window. They were very unpolite
in reminding that it was a "DX window". And guys it does no good to send QRL?
and then not listen on a broad direction antenna.
Missed: AK, NNY, VE4, VE8. KH6LC in PAC was only section worked that didn't
call me.
Thanks for all the Q's. Logs will be loaded to LOTW in next few days. Please
QSL to WM6A, bureau or direct, if you need a card.
Look for XYL Kay, K6KO as P40K in ARRL 10 METER CONTEST next weekend.
Ken, K6TA
