This was my FIRST NAQP on RTTY - WOW, that was FUN !
I started (3 hours late) with the idea of handing out a few QSO's before
returning to the CQ 160M SSB Contest. What a BAD PLAN that was!
Search and Pounce on RTTY seems a bit 'tedious' and it's hard to get a good
rate going (or I haven't learned the secret yet anyway), BUT, RTTY RUNS are
FUN. Now if I can just figure out how to get the attention of guys whose
report I need repeated before they run off to other QSO's... Maybe I should
ask for the repeat BEFORE sending my report. (DUH!)
I was amazed to have Europeans calling me off the back of my beam running
BareFoot on 40M and even on 80M with my Elevated GP (High Dipole rope broke).
Thanks to KH6GMP for calling me on 40M and KL7J on 80M (my first QSO there!).
Too bad I didn't start earlier to catch more of the 20M opening. Guess I
should have also signed up for the ACG RTTY Team, especially since no one else
showed up to claim the 5th position. Sorry guys, Next Time.
