Comments:
It was all great fun once again. Though on Sunday morning I decided to follow
the advice to QSY given by some serious European contesters. I tuned the other
antenna to 1900 kHz and stayed there most of the time, the advisers stayed at
the low end where I could have had extra 3dB gain.
The score is what you get when put a CW-operator at the microphone and you are
located 60 deg north.
It was interesting to test my vertical antennas in a new location, and once
again note the differce of band openings in comparison to the what I
experienced 160 CW contest further south(4O3M).
My verticals definetly work better than the antennas in the other QTH (OH2PM).
My antenna phasing system works only at the low end of the band, thus I had to
run them individually, one tuned at 1830 and the other at 1900. Having no
RX-antennas yet, the reception was very poor.
For a more CW-oriented oprator the 160 SSB contest and QRM was again a reminder
of the future ham radio with no code. I have to get used to it and run an other
SSB contest next week end, possily from OH0.
OH1PS does not exist in the database, so many stations suggested OH1PV insted.
I have been OH1PS since 1966 (OH2PM since 1959) but not contesting as OH1PS
after 1983.
