Comments:
There must have been a 15 minute phenomenon in this contest. Like others, my
first 15 minutes were great, with 28 QSOs. I multiplied by 4 and thought --
great, maybe I can finally reach 300! And then it took me 4 minutes to make my
next QSO and my dreams were shattered. I ended up with hourly totals of 78, 41,
60, and 51. Hour number 2 was particularly painful. And the mults were
non-existent. I just kept hearing the same people over and over -- and most of
them were from California. If it wasn't for California I wouldn't have worked
anyone -- I worked 62 Californians with the next highest being Washington with
17. Hopefully next weekend I can get some more mults!
However, like the bumper sticker that says something like the worst day fishing
is still great, I still found it one of the most enjoyable ways to spend 4 hours
possible. I wish more of the sprinters who operate in the CW sprint would give
the SSB version a try -- I think they would like it as well.
