Comments:

ABØRX and KØBX teamed up to operate as WØMA again this year. This was our
third round up working together. Activity level in the contest was even better
than last year. We logged 1347 QSOs (27% more than last year) with 117
multipliers for a claimed score of 157,599

At the starting gun, we began calling CQ on 20 meters and logged 183 QSOs and 68
multipliers in the first three hours. We had not worked many states at this
point, we had a good opening to Europe and many of the multipliers were DX.
When 20 meters rates slowed down, we tried 15 meters, but the band was not in
good shape so we went to 40 meters which was wall to wall RTTY from 7.025 to
7.100. We had good runs on 40 with many strong European stations in there. We
called CQ on 3586 MHz continuously for 3 hours, 45 minutes, only giving up the
frequency at 1:00 am to begin our predetermined rest period.

We began again at 7:00 Sunday morning on 20 meters. The band was very busy and
it took a few minutes to find a good place to call CQ. We had good runs on 20
meters and later on 15 meters. We ended the last two hours on 40 meters. The
final hour was the busiest when we logged 103 QSOs/hr.

We missed DE and DC for stateside multipliers and NF, PEI, LB, NWT, YT, and NU
for VE multipliers. (Yes, VE4 was active, we worked two).

Activity as expected was poor on 10 meters. We went there three or 4 times
Sunday afternoon and only managed 6 QSOs. Best DX on 15 Meters was FO5PS who
answered our CQ. Best DX on 20 meters was VR2BG. The level of DX activity in
this year?s roundup was outstanding. Over 23% of our log came from stations
outside of North America.

QSO Breakdown by Band

10 Meters 6
15 Meters 184
20 Meters 517
40 Meters 339
80 Meters 301
Total 1347

So many stations, so little time!

73, DE ABØRX
