Thanks to Tom and Midge for letting me crash their opening
spring break weekend.
I must say, I've never been this pumped for a domestic contest,
let alone the fact it was SSB! But KL9A and N6MJ brain washed
me for weeks or months leading up to it and I was just too
psyched out to notice the bands!
Luckily I'm not QRV from home or I may have recognized
the "low sun spot cycle clues" and saw the dead bands coming!
I think the only reason I stayed awake as long as I did was out of
fear that "Duchess" their turbo dog would find me on the floor in my
sleeping back and lick my face silly.
Seriously, a good run at the station in a DX contest. Learning
much about the conditions from here looking forward to improving...
The cycle, that is... so we can do this right!
Congrats to KW7Y(K7RL) for taking the cake. I stand amazed.
We (many of us) sat and listened on Radio 2 for 5 hours as he
ran EU on 20 and not one of us could hear 10% of them! We could
only CQ and hope to be so lucky! Unbelievable, yet true.
Mitch, you are just rockin' right now!
