I decided to give the OKQP a try this year due to the nice bunch of awards they
hand out - eleven plaques, and certificates for everyone. Thanks to the mobiles
(K5YAA, AF5Q, W5LE and K5AAR) for doing a great job of activating almost all
counties and keeping the interest up on a slow Sunday. It was especially
interesting listening to AF5Q as he was navigating to the next county in
darkness and following directions being given over the air. I stuck with him for
about 25 minutes and was rewarded with a new county. Sweet! The mobiles had
incredible signals for most of the contest.
This is a contest I'll be doing again for sure.
