Comments:
Antenna consisted of four 2-ft dia. latex balloons, bought at a party supply
house one hour before sundown, lifting 160 feet of #22 insulated wire. Tuned by
a Dentron tuner located at a ground rod with 3 short radials. Mild breeze was
sufficient to push balloons to about 100 ft downwind and only 80 feet in
altitude. Had to cut contest short at about 0600Z when wind shifted carrying
balloons precariously close to the tops of the neighbor's trees (would have been
difficult to explain...). All this from a no-antenna deed restricted
neighborhood (hams rule!). High noise level on the balloon antenna, S6,
probably caused me to miss several QSOs.
