Comments:

Murphy does sprints. I discovered half through a qso the radio fan was not
working and finals were HOT (burned fingers)!. I shut down and had the joy of
dismantling the radio (Mark V) to trace problem. Couldn't get at the screws for
the heat sink to check regulator board so I reassembled radio and tried again.
The fan came on during tuning and the radio ran cool the rest of the way. The
fan blades must have been jammed by a foam pad when the radio was in for service
last week - luck of the draw. I had to replace the lost qso number (sorry to
whom ever).

Yaesu service manual sucks - good for peaking electronics but nothing on the
themal circuitry and no easy dismantling diagrams. I wonder where the grey/white
wires from J14 on the regulator board go, or if they should be plugged into J13
instead with the fan into J14???

Yaesu Mark V (divided by 2 = II.V??), miniquad and LB+ antennas

Enjoyed the sprint format for the first time.

Tnx Bob
