Comments:

COMMENTS: HAD A GREAT TIME WITH A 1 BY 1 CALL. WOULD HAVE HAD LOTS MORE
MULTIPLIERS IF WE COULD HAVE CONTINUED INTO THE EVENING ON 75/80 METRES. 20 WAS
ALMOST USELESS - LOTS OF CALIFORNIA, DX, ETC. 40 WAS "IN AND OUT." A COUPLE
TIMES WE HAD A SHORT RUN SIMILAR TO THE "OTHER END OF A DX PILE UP" ON 40, BUT
THE OPERATION WAS CUT SHORT BY A "GULLY WASHER" LIGHTNING STORM. THE RAIN
LASTED FOR ABOUT AN HOUR, FROM 7 TO 8 P.M., BUT LIGHTNING WAS STILL VERY
PREVALENT SO WE FOLDED UP OUR TENTS AND CAME HOME. ONE OTHER THING WE
LEARNED - THERMAL SHUTDOWN OF A COMPUTER DOES WORK - MY ITTY BITTY LAPTOP DIDN'T
LIKE THE 90+ °F, HIGH HUMIDITY, AND SHUT DOWN ABOUT 1500 EDT. WE SWITCHED TO A
BACKUP COMPUTER AND CARRIED ON.
