Started the contest with K2 and 11 cell NiCd battery. That's 1 cell too many,
the K2 wouldn't work until I ran a bunch of unneeded accessories to get the
voltage down a bit. The battery should've lasted all night, but I ran it down
in a few hours. For the rest of the contest I ran a lead acid battery to a
FT-817 (didn't feel like changing connectors on the battery so it'd fit the K2).
The battery was starting to go dead toward the end, the rig wasn't putting out
full power. I didn't call CQ a lot, I wanted the battery to last.
Sure had fun working the E skip on 6m QRP. Too bad there wasn't any CW activity
to speak of on 6. Maybe clubs stick the no-code techs on 6m SSB??
