No 10 meter EU opening (actually was an opening, but too weak for my LP) - a
portent of things to come, sigh. But hey, it was still a good contest! That
late Saturday night opening to Siberia was awesome - all those watery signals
were 10 point-new oblast-multiplier music to my ears.
Couldn't run too much with 100 watts in conditions like this, but WriteLog made
it all lots of fun. This was the first contest in which I could use packet,
both modes, and DVK functions all at once. So what that meant was that I could
pick up mults irrespective of band and mode by just double-clicking and hitting
F4, where the melodious sounds of "K2PS" in perfect Morse or dulcet tones would
issue forth. Ahhh! Ain't technology wonderful?
Slept about 5 hours late Saturday night, and luckily woke up about 545AM to work
a whole mess of Russians with all sorts of new oblasts on 20 until the end of
the contest at 7. Where were those guys the day before?
Pete, K2PS
